BELIEVE IN MIRACLES

Kellie Rae Roberts

2 SAMUEL 9: 3-4; 6-7; 3
3 Then the king said, “Is there not still someone of the house of Saul, to whom I may show the kindness of God?”
And Ziba said to the king, “There is still a son of Jonathan who is lame in his feet.”
4 so the king said to him, “Where is he?”
6 Now when Mephibosheth the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, had come to David, he fell on his face and prostrated himself. Then David said, “Mephibosheth?”
And he answered, “Here is your servant!”
7 So David said to him, “Do not fear, for I will surely show you kindness for Jonathan your father’s sake, and will restore to you all the land of Saul your grandfather; and you shall eat bread at my table continually.
13 So Mephibosheth dwelt in Jerusalem, for he ate continually at the king’s table. And he was lame in both his feet.
The OWN has a show called "Our America", hosted by a reporter named Lisa Ling. She travels all over America looking for unique stories that are indigenous to "us". Last night I watched her first show called "Faith Healing".
The story started out profiling a "charismatic" young man who called himself a "Faith Healer". He was not an ordained minister, or pastor. He didn't even profess to be "Born Again".  Lisa Ling even asked him if he considered himself a prophet. "No, I'm no prophet !" he said emphatically. He was a guy,who felt that he had overcome some adversity in his life, he believed that it was because of the grace of God, that he had overcome those trials. He felt that he had been given a gift of "healing".OK!!

So he utilized this "gift", to invite people who were desperate for a cure. The philosophies of men mixed with religion.Folks would line up to meet him, they were all so emotional and desperate and they saw him as their last hope. They lined up and he would carry on a continuous patter of "talk", and he would touch them, or lay hands on them and then say "Power, power, power and then he would say "Bam, Bam,Bam!!!"They would fall to the floor convulsing and spasming, and he would walk on. Of course he collected a fee for this.
So, Lisa Ling, the reporter was skeptical. She said that she was a Christian, and although she had seen a lot, this "profession" did not seem right, it seemed a little off center. She was not comfortable with it.
Then she met a man, in a wheel chair. The event was for 3 nights and Lisa noticed that this man was there for each of the 3 nights, parked in his wheel chair by the door.
She obviously felt compassion for this man, because she expressed concern for him. She went to him and asked him why he was there:
Lisa Ling follows Steve, a wheelchair-bound man who was told by God that he would walk again after being healed at Morning Star Ministries

It seems that Steve was in a car accident at the age of 18 that left him partially brain damaged, and 15 years ago he fell off of a roof and injured his spine, causing paralysis of legs and feet.
He was a very positive person. Lisa asked him if he believed that the faith healer was a prophet:, He said "No, I do not believe in him". He said I believe in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who has the ability to heal me"
The question was called: "Whom do ye say that I am?
John 6:63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life

Steve was a wonderful example of keeping your faith and
he summed it up perfect. He said this life is over in a blink and eternity is forever

And then it was time for Steve to take the line.It was an amazing spectacle. You could sense that the environment around him had become different. He was there by himself, some of the attendants were there to help him to his feet. The reporter, Lisa said that he seemed to be in a different place, he seemed to be praying, his mouth was moving slowly, he seemed to be at peace. Of course, after the "Faith Healer" came by and laid his hands on his head , and shouted Power, power, bam, bam,......

The attendants lifted him to his feet, but there was no strengh there, he could not stand. The disappointment was visible on the attendants face, the reporter was so distraught. She left the room, because she did not want to see "Steve" devestated by his disappointment.

But guess what , Steve was not disappointed. He simply said, I guess its not yet my time to walk. But, he said my faith is still strong and present. Lisa the reporter kneeled down in front of him, and he put his hands on her head and prayed for her, and gave a blessing to her. At that moment, I believe that Steve was the faith healer. I felt the Holy Spirit bubble up inside of me and say to me that Steve will walk; he will walk into the presence of our Heavenly Father in that last day.

LUKE 5:20-24

20 When He saw their faith, He said to him, “Man, your sins are forgiven you.”
22 But when Jesus perceived their thoughts, He answered and said to them, “Why are you reasoning in your hearts?
23 Which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Rise up and walk’?
24 But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins”—He said to the man who was paralyzed, “I say to you, arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.”
